At long last for Charles Leclerc.

This was a much-deserved first F1 victory for the youngster and a faultless weekend performance — from his astonishing 0.7s advantage in qualifying, into the 44 laps of the race in which he built a lead, then kept his composure after the Mercedes arrived charging.
What made this introduction win even more astonishing was the fact Leclerc missing a close friend in Anthoine Hubert on Saturday, using the Ferrari driver admitting he had been extra concentrated to supply the following day so that he could devote the race to the 22-year-old along with his loved ones.
Lewis Hamilton has been vocal in his praise of Leclerc — who should really have had three wins now — all year and predicted more»devotion to come» following his milestone win on Sunday, while Sky F1′s Damon Hill called the»floodgates» will now open.

Lewis Hamilton insisted he had been proud of his weekend although he dropped out on success this season — and it’s simple to see why.
Hamilton was in qualifying, and but for a few laps he would probably have overtaken Leclerc of his improbable victories. That could have been quite a feat since Mercedes boss Toto Wolff claimed this was going to be»damage limitation» due to Ferrari’s straight-line speed.
Actually Hamilton extended his championship lead nearly got lost because of Leclerc’s emotional victory, but the Englishman has become 65 points before Valtteri Bottas, although Max Verstappen, tipped as a competitor, is a whopping 87 points straight ago.

A Mercedes contract that was new was celebrated by valtteri Bottas in Spa and by beating against Hamilton, he would have hoped to justify the religion of his team. But the weekend never really got going to the Finn.
He ended a tenth off Hamilton in qualifying regardless of his own team-mate’s P3 smash and, though his group frequently attempted to push him gee him up in the race, Bottas wasn’t actually in contention for the two positions and finished 12s off after turning down his motor overdue on.
Bottas has not finished because the GP ahead of Hamilton, while his win drought stretches back into round four of their year in Azerbaijan. He wants to find his mojo.

Speaking of slumps, this is a protracted one for Sebastian Vettel. Since then agonising race-losing punishment in Canada in June, Vettel has two podium finishes from these six races and has failed to out-qualify Leclerc.
Despite a stressing 0.7s deficit in qualifying, Vettel was well-placed for the race, second in the grid with the benefit of slipstream, however a bad start allowed Hamilton during and, although he soon passed the Mercedes, his lack of speed meant Ferrari pitted him . That meant he needed another stop later, which dropped him to fourth — .
Vettel does deserve credit, however. When minding team orders using a minimum amount of fuss, To begin with , he moved out of the way of his team-mate, he held up Hamilton to get a few laps. That may have been crucial.

Daniil Kvyat will be forgiven for feeling downbeat after the group opted for Albon, who also the Russian out-qualified along with out-scored within their 12 34, after being chased for a Red Bull promotion . Charge to Kvyat, though.
Like Albon, Kvyat was pressured into a back-of-the-grid (nicely, 19th thanks to other penalties) start and followed his former team-mate onto the mediums. He gave him the tender tyre in the race’s end also, although passed by Albon, six locations were gained by him after that second stop — also becoming before Gasly.

Another race day for Haas and Kevin Magnussen. The Dane stayed in that place, started seventh, and qualified 10th. But then Magnussen’s Sunday started to fall apart because he lost six locations in the distance of five rebounds. He never recovered after that. As he told Sky F1′s Martin Brundle it is not that Haas are utilizing their tyres but they aren’t utilizing them. A puzzle.
