Last night was just a different night of darts. The triumph in a thriller over Cost of chisnall was the best match of the evening. Nathan Aspinall continued to impress and now he could be the dark horse this week. Gurney was disappointing and Im shocked at the manner in. This day, the round kicks off and that I have two choices.
It landed on the night and I am surprised this day, bookies are offering odds against on Michael Smith. He took some time to get going against Simon Whitlock however if he did he was at his very best. Whitlock should have won this match but it did not close out and Smith will feel good when he was not at his best before the conclusion of the match he won. Ian White should not have won and has been let off the hook by Joe Cullen. He hit one 180 compared to Michael Smiths four. In case smith starts I cant see he being matched by White in the 180 section.
My suggestion of this day comes in the conflict between Jeffrey p Zwaan and Michael Van Gerwen. MVG survived a scare against the remarkable Jamie Hughes to get through the initial round. He missed chances and does not look at his finest. De Zwaan breezed with ease past Steve Beaton which should give him plenty of confidence. So there must be more to come out of him he plays. Hes strong about the doubles and a great scorer. All of us remember that when he beat Michael in the Matchplay this past year and although there might not be an upset like that again, I think Jeffrey de Zwaan +1.5 lays at 6/4 is solid.
